See how we take care of our customers' experience with reliability, top quality and more
We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Rajbari Bawali for one night, and the experience was truly memorable. Right from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and grace that it instantly set the tone for our stay.
Everything — from the authentic Bengali thali that captured the essence of Bengal, to the soulful sandhya aarati that filled the evening with peace — was absolutely wonderful.
The staff’s hospitality deserves special mention. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. Their warmth made us feel completely at home.
I would definitely love to visit again and relive this beautiful experience.
Thank you, Team Rajbari Bawali, for your heartfelt hospitality and for creating such a magical stay for us.

If you’re looking for a weekend getaway through the year, this is it. It’s worth the trip, the money and all things you usually worry about. The rooms are as royal and regal as the Rajbari. The food which has been curated with a menu of heritage and home is beyond words. It has the typical zamindar-esque charm. It is also the home of Choker Bali and Bulbul. Priya and team were absolutely wonderful . She explained the entire property as we walked through it and even took care of each and every need that we had. We recommend you visit during the Ilish festival, the winters and during Durga Pujo. We also recommend you to try out the mutton dakbangalow, jhuri aloo bhaja, daal and caramel custard!
We are absolutely in awe of the Rajbari! Take a bow, team Rajbari Bawali, you nailed it 💫

Our daycation at Bawali Rajbari was nothing short of extraordinary! The grandeur of the restored heritage property is awe-inspiring, with decor that beautifully captures the essence of Bengal’s rich history. The hospitality was impeccable, and the personal touch from the owner, a kind and visionary gentleman, added so much warmth to our experience.
The food was the star of the day—Bengali cuisine at its finest, with every dish bursting with authentic flavors. The staff were incredibly courteous, always smiling, and ready to assist at a moment’s notice. The restoration of this heritage gem not only preserves history but also uplifts rural Bengal, making it a truly inspiring initiative. A perfect blend of luxury, culture, and heartfelt hospitality—Bawali Rajbari is a must-visit!

Fantastic place to go for a stay bit on outskirts of Kolkata.. very warm place with great staff who not only is considerate, helpful and treat the guest as a guest to their home than guest to hotel..
Mainly Sandip Pal who was assigned to us, have is tour of the place, explained the history, was attentive of our needs and was always available.. The owner status in the place and have a keen sense of ownership to treat this as his house where guests come (in reference to food, hospitality and training of each staff), he had been a great story to the localities must of the employed people around who was trained into this with no experience generating employment in the place.. there are few from outside to help build the service culture and professionalism..
Highly recommend the place

Just an 1.5 hour drive from Kolkata, the 300-year old zamidar bari has been tastefully restored. Retains the old-world charm, while providing all the modern comforts. The courtyard and the thakur dalan are the main draw (especially at night), but the property extends inside significantly with a couple of ponds, a swiming pool and cottages along them. Within the main building, we absolutely loved the Verandah bar and the rooftop cafe.
Apart from the popular lunch thali, the food menu is nicely mixed up with local and global dishes, and the quality is also pretty good. What really stands out is the service - the staff was very courteous all through and ensured we had a lovely winter stay at The Rajbari. Shoutout to Moidul who took good care of us, including serving up some nice cocktails.

We booked a 4 hour day package that included lunch and a tour of the property. We were greeted with a welcome drink and after a leisure time, we went for lunch. The ambience was fantastic; the dinner hall is a glass house and had DJ. We ordered for Zamindar Classic thalis with unlimited repeats except fish fry. The food was absolutely fabulous. Mr Manish Das in the dining hall took good care of us.
After lunch we went for a property tour, and Karuna explained the history in detail. The property was very well maintained and few upgrades were also being made.
Another good thing is that the property allow pets and also distribute leftover food to stray animals.
Will surely recommend and will come back for an overnight stay.

A Truly Royal Anniversary Experience at The Rajbari Bawali
We had the recent pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at The Rajbari Bawali, and it was nothing short of magical. The peaceful surroundings and scenic natural beauty made our stay incredibly special.
A special shoutout to Nibedita, our hostess, who went above and beyond to take care of even the smallest details, ensuring we felt truly pampered throughout our stay. The entire staff is such a delightful group of people, radiating warmth and hospitality, making us feel nothing less than royal.
The pond near the lotus was a serene spot to unwind, especially during meals, and the evening aarti was a blissful experience that added a spiritual touch to our stay.
We highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to escape the hustle and enjoy a royal retreat. Can't wait to return!

The Rajbari Bawali is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Bengali countryside, offering an enchanting blend of impeccable service and delectable cuisine. My recent visit to this splendid heritage property left me utterly impressed, as it seamlessly combined old-world charm with modern hospitality, resulting in an unforgettable experience.
Upon arriving at The Rajbari Bawali, I was immediately struck by the sheer grandeur of the property. The majestic architecture and lush greenery exuded a sense of timeless elegance, transporting me to a bygone era. The property's rich history as a zamindari estate added to its allure, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a taste of royal Bengal.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming property, for me it was really a dream. This heritage palace was tastefully restored and furnished. The 3 Royal suites are impressive with their sumptuous beds and antique furnitures (my favourite is the Indigo suite). My bed was very soft. All the employers of the hotel are so nice and good looking. I appreciated among others the service of Mr Swarup (supervisor restaurant), Mr Bilash (supervisor restaurant), Mr Imtiaz (steward) who were perfect, no nice and so helpful, and many others who were like angels. The food is excellent, really outstanding. I appreciate also the fact that there is no TV. The swimming pool is extremely nice. I highly recommend this place.

My Husband planeed a surpiser trip on my Birthday. Our Experience is truely incredible . We stayed at royal suite , The room alongwith one big drawing room having some anitique furnitures and show pieces . The foods were really good . They arrenged a spceical lunch for me having panch bhaja and payes for my birthday. The arrengements for the birthday dinner was also very beatiful and royal. The USP of the resort is the beahavour of its each and every staffs. They are all so polite and always smiling and always greet you with folded hand. Special Thanks to Nivedita who went extra mile to make my birthday special. Thanks To Zarukh as well as he also provided us the best service. One small request .. please install some bright light in the bedrooms for the purpose of reading or such kind of activity.

Me and my husband had an amazing experience in Rajbari Bawali. The staffs are polite and humble. Food is just delicious. We totally loved every corner of this beautiful 300 year old property. It is super clean and hygienic. The only challenge we faced was with the wifi connection which I would request the owner to improve.
We upgraded our room to Royal Suite which again was super big and loved the aesthetics of it. We were assigned Mr. Gautam, who would take care of our every need and he proved his worth. We were super happy with Gautam's service and undoubtedly his humble nature. We are soon planning again to visit this property with our family. Thank you Rajbari Bawali!!! We were totally mesmerized and super satisfied with our stay.

Magical! Must not miss! It’s the heritage and the fascinating culture of Bengal in its true form, original setting and authentic nature, carefully restored to keep the identity true. They have night programmes like local musicians and pujas, as well as a boat ride on the Ganges river accompanied by champagne and snacks. The pool is magnificent and the spa has a great service with north eastern proffessionals. The food you will get is mostly indian and made as per the local taste, so they could improve the variety, and the sevice people are nice and curteous although they need more training. Overall, a great experience and we try to go a few times a year especially during Holi and Durga Puja.

A must visit place for everyone. One hour drive from city, from Joka another 15km to reach The Rajbari Bawali. This resort offers wide range of facilities. Food is awesome and there is a cultural activity. What attracts the most is ambience of the place and most friendly staffs. It is near from center of Kolkata. Loved the beautiful and calm ambience. The day became more special with rain. Property and Rooms are very well maintained. With little modifications, Rajbari look is maintained to give feel of staying in the real Rajbari. Behaviour of the staff was good. Good place to visit with family. Altogether a wonderful experience and one can rejuvenate themselves and cherish the memories.

I visited the Rajbari Bawali on 3rd of October on the occasion of Durga Ashtami with my family. We had opted for a Daycation and must say it was a fantastic experience. We started with Pushpanjali and then lunch with live music (the singer's voice was soulful, just forgetting her name). Everything was so so so well organized. We were so well taken care off. The property is huge and very well maintained. You would just want to sit there for hours. The staff there led by Mrinalinee is so warm and welcoming. They always had a smile on their faces and genuinely looked happy with what they were doing. The food was scrumptious and included some authentic Bengali recipes. It was served unlimited to us and everyone present there. Our next visit would be a night stay during winter (I am already imagining - sipping tea on a foggy morning by the pond). A MUST MUST VISIT if you are in Kolkata. 😊
~ Sayantani B
One of the best hospitality I have ever experienced. The staff are courteous, promptly taking care of one's requests.
Now coming to the food.. The best food I have had it in a while.. If you like bengali cuisine then you are in for a treat here with their Zamindari Thali(must try). Even the other menu item we tried/breakfast was really good. Do try the baked dahi in the breakfast spread.
Also they had some activities planned for the guest and one should not miss the evening Aarti. Such a pleasant experience that is.
Just one (-) thing - rooms here doesn't come with a fridge but you can ask the staffs to cool the drinks or something else.. Overall Rating 4.9/5
~ Vishal K
It was a day trip for us in winter, which included lunch and evening snacks. We were served a welcome drink, along with the delicious Zamindari thali. Lunch thali has no limitations for rice, dal, or gravy of any item. Evening snacks included some lip smacking fritters and tea/coffee. There were no limitations for evening snacks.
Other than that, the place is beautiful, with clean hygienic well equipped washrooms. If you are not booking a room, you can spend the time by the pool side, different libraries and common lounge area or anywhere in the property. So, summer is probably not a great time for a day trip. The environment gives a royal mood.

A quiet peaceful place to spend some time or a weekend with family, spouse or friends.
This place will give you a beautiful vintage vibe with all the historian artifacts at it's interiors along with delicious authentic Bengali food.
They provide you both day outing and weekend gateway options (when i visited it was like this).
Customer Services, vibe and ambience are top notch. They even have live music performances of rural Bengali folk during lunch.
I felt foods are a little expensive compared to the quantity but quality is excellent.
If you want to spend some quiet time out of the busy hustling city routine. This could be your easiest destination within Kolkata.
~ Devashruti G
It is a luxury hotel in a renovated old jamindar house, which makes it unique. It has 5 star like facilities like pool side bar, spa, but the room sizes are far bigger than in any hotel, because they were actual used by jamindars.
They have decorated the whole hotel with heritage furnitures and decorations, which will literally take you to old days.
Apart from the main building, they have many picturesque buildings in the back side, all heritage styled, one pond.
I specially liked notun bari which is just beside the pond.
I recommend to stay overnight then you'll actually feel the ambience. Because late night walks among the garden is something truly different.

I recently visited The Rajbari Bawali with my family and it was a wonderful experience. Right from the warm welcome greetings, the hospitality made us feel special and set the tone for the visit. The greenery and peaceful surroundings create a serene atmosphere, while the grand colonial-style pillars, courtyards, and rustic architecture take you back to Bengal’s aristocratic past.
Though I didn’t stay in the rooms, I loved the glimpse of antique furniture and vintage décor that add so much charm. The highlight was definitely the Bengali traditional thali—authentic dishes like shukto, paneer paturi, mochar ghonto, dal, rice, fish curry, other varieties of Bengal and the perfect ending with mishti doi and sweets.
Overall, Rajbari Bawali is not just about food or architecture, but the whole atmosphere—calm, green, welcoming, and culturally rich. A must-visit to experience Bengal’s heritage.

The Rajbari of Bawali, Located about an hour and 30 minutes from Kolkata (around 38 Kms). The Rajbari Bawali is a 300-year-old boutique heritage property that has been elegantly turned into one of the best luxury heritage resorts near Kolkata. The setup of the property, its antique furniture & fixtures are treat to the eyes. The greeneries and well maintained garden have added lots of oxygen for the soul and the body. Recreated grandeur and grace of the Zamindar bari of Bengal will come to life the moment you step in. Strolling around the 4 acres of royalty, with a beautifully maintained swimming pool, natural pond, the library, dining halls, some old art pieces that has a different treasure for everyone. We had Bengali lunch spread, which is pretty good and tastes almost authentic, it costs Rs. 1770 per person with tax. Great experience, highly recommended for a day visit to rejuvenate your soul.

Why Doesn't the Government not declare this site as a heritage property?
The way this property keeps improving year on year, month on month...it's amazing.
The buffet lunch (traditional Bengali) is literally to "die for"....the quality...the ambience...
This does NOT seem to be a "commercial" operation....it's just the sheer love, dedication and passion of the "owner" at work. This can't be the brainchild of a nameless and faceless organisation....
Someone has taken care and pains to mature this property as his / her own child.....I guess this says it all....this is evident in all aspects of this property.
Beauty in simplicity and conversation seems to be the mantra....right from the architecture to the nicks and knacks .....
GUYS !!!!!! Long talk short.....A MUST visit....both for out of Kolkata and from Kolkata visitors....
PS: This is not a paid review......BUT it should have been 🤣

I was there for three days during this Durga Puja’s and I had the Best of my time there.
On Ashtami the Saturday 24th October 2020, was full of Cultural Activities organised by the Hotel.
The Owners, husband and wife, were there right through, seeing personally to one and everyone’s comfort and well-being. Thanks for their hands on approach and treating every Guest as some heavenly person.
The food is one of the best, maybe in whole of India. Service is par excellent.
This has to be personally experienced to be believed.
It is definitely a one great time experience and my few friends whom I had recommended last year, have nothing but all praise for this out of the world joy and extremely happy experience.
Words are not sufficient to say any further on this great place.
I am again here for two days of 14th October’21 Thursday and 15th October’21 Friday .
To repeat my Enjoyment for yet another year of 2021.

The most amazing experience.
Love how it’s got all the modern amenities (read: things you would expect in a hotel) but has still retained the beautiful charm of yesteryear’s.
The food and service is good, but the ambience is what will totally take your breath away.
In the evening, there is the Sandhya Aarti (a practice particular to the state but rarely
seen these days) and then a lovely performance /entertainment, all contributing in its own way to the charm of the place.
Being winter, the pool wasn’t a priority, but in summer, it’s definitely a huge plus that you can even bring your fur babies here.
The rooms are quaint - some with four poster beds and all with tasteful hints of the past - making it a truly memorable and unique experience.
I would go back just to do nothing but soak it all in, over and over again. Truly enchanted!
More than a hotel/resort - the Rajbari is a romantic story!
